Chris Broom is the vice president of Commercial Training Solutions for Boeing Global Services, leading with responsibility for the people, processes and tools to provide training solutions and services to all markets served by Boeing. Broom and his team are driving transformational innovation into the next generation of learning solutions across Boeing’s full training portfolio, and ensuring high-quality, efficient, repeatable delivery with a continuous focus on enhancing aviation safety.


Broom joined Boeing in April 2021 after a 27-year career with American Airlines culminating as managing director of Flight and Training Administration where he had oversight of American Airlines’ Training Centers in Dallas/Ft. Worth and Charlotte, Simulator Engineering and Support, Pilot Recruiting and Development, Flight Communications, Flight Training Support, and Hotel and Transportation contracts for all pilot and flight attendant travel.

Prior to that role, he served in a variety of others including managing director of Flight Training, manager of Flight Training Operations, other roles in DFW airport operations and within System Operations Control.


Before joining American Airlines, Chris worked at a start-up airline, Skybus, and flew various aircraft from small instructional planes to Cessna Citations.


Broom holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in General Business from the University of Central Oklahoma and has earned multiple FAA certificates including dispatcher, advanced ground instructor, single and multi-instrument land, instrument, commercial, certified flight instructor, certified flight instructor instrument, and multi-engine instructor.

Chris currently serves on the St. Mark’s Alumni Association Board of Directors and the USS Yorktown (CV-10) Association Board of Directors. He previously served as Member, Vice-President, and President of the Susan G. Komen – Dallas Board of Directors for many years and was involved with the American Airlines’ Race for the Cure team efforts for over 20 years.
