Introducing the new Chair of the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Steering Committee (TPSC). Mrs. Paula Vieira de Almeida holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education - Leadership and Management with a specialization in Executive Leadership from the Oxford University. Following the closure of the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), where she started her employment in August 2004, she has worked for JAA TO (JAA Training Organisation) – the Training Body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) – since its establishment. Mrs. Almeida has fulfilled several positions in the organisation (from Training Manager, to Business Development Manager, Deputy Director and Director).
Paula was elected Chair of the TPSC in December 2020. She is also an ICAO-qualified instructor for the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS TIC Program (Training Instructors Course) and she is also JAA TO’s official CATC Validator.
Upon her appointment as Director of JAA TO in May 2016, Paula was responsible for the restructuring of the organisation, which makes it today the leading Training Center of Excellence in Europe.
JAA TO is a non-profit foundation established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the pioneering provider of regulatory training courses in aviation, for both authority and industry personnel. JAA TO is the Associated Training Body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) and the leading member of the Virtual Academy of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
